Book
Written in plain language, this is a gentle companion and definitive guide to understanding talking therapies

What Karin Blak has achieved with her book ‘Talking Therapy’ is quite remarkable. A sort of bible for anyone who wants to know about the process of finding a therapist, becoming a therapist, what to expect and how to get the most out of your journey, and then some.
Hazel Butterfield, Women's Radio
The Essential Companion to Talking Therapy
During her 15 years as a therapist, Karin Blak has found that, due to a lack of understanding of what therapy is, people often wait until crisis point to seek help. Even when they are motivated to find professional support, there are psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists; we have so many different types of professionals and approaches to therapy that confusion is inevitable.
The Essential Companion to Talking Therapy aims to explain and untangle the world of therapy, from finding a therapist, through the journey of therapy and when therapy has finished. This is literarily the essential companion to talking therapy.
I liked the fact Blak used 'we' throughout the book, including herself and all readers as people who benefit from the experience of therapy. This is a gentle tour of the points you will experience along a journey to accessing therapy and has some personal experience blended in, to aid or give more meaning.

"Working with Karin on The Wellness Journal was a real pleasure. I was
extremely impressed by her ability to carry out the required
background research and then write about this important topic in an
engaging and accessible way, all while working to a tight deadline.
Karin comes highly recommended as a copywriter!"
